Meet Mrs. Fixer Upper Mary Kay Andrews

As an ex-remodeler (of two homes) I love a good remodeling story, and Mary Kay Andrews has two. A fictional one told in her book The Fixer Upper and a real life version...

... turning this run down beach cottage on Tybee Island (GA)...

into a gem named The Breeze Inn. You can go through the archives of Mary Kay's Blog..., or visit me @ Completely Coastal for some before and after shots -hope to see you there!

Shared with Hooked on Fridays @ Julia's Hooked on Houses + Pink Saturday @ Beverly's How Sweet the Sound.

The Breeze is just fantastic. I live the full width awning. It's not a wimpy little detail; it rocks the whole house.

How fun! I stumbled on a Mary Kay Andrews book at the Library (Savannah Breeze) and have been looking for MORE ever since. It was my ALL TIME FAVORITE book. It's my dream to do something like that and re-vamp a small motel. SUPER COOL....have a wonderful day and hugs from Houston

Oh that 1st pic is too funny. I checked out her blog, but she doesn't blog that much. Well, I guess everyone can't be an addict like me.

Oh My Goodness...I am loving that pink flamingo front door. I bought some fabulous old "beach" bottles today while out treasure hunting...in a pale greenish blue color. Now....if I only had a beach cottage to put them in. sigh....

This is so crazy, I just finished the Fixer Upper last week and now I am reading Savannah Breeze. I read Deep Dish just a few weeks ago. I love her and she looks awesome with all that paint and crazy hair.
Thanks so much for sharing those wonderful properties!!
Have a Fabulous Pink Saturday!

Wow I want this house!! I read your earlier post on the price on that home.there is a huge old historic captains mansion in Milton,Mass. for only in the $700,000!! I was shocked when I found it on Forbes. I have not seen 1 foreclosure sign where I live? I think there is a real estae boom here in Mass for first time buyers! Money-chusetts$$ Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog..I think the plants along the dunes are turning fall-ish already! Noooo...!
